Energy specialists from Odesa are actively engaged in restoring electricity supply in the Kherson region, disrupted by Russian shelling in February. Thanks to their efforts, power has returned to nearly 2,000 residents of the city.

This was reported by DTEK Odesa Electric Networks on their official page.

It is noted that 26 specialists worked on restoring the damaged energy infrastructure. Teams arrived in Kherson in mid-March, operating on a rotational basis.

“The frontline was only 3 to 10 kilometers away from the work site. Energy workers had to work in bulletproof vests and helmets due to the threat of shelling, as the enemy continued to attack the city from the left bank of the Dnipro,” the report states.

The specialists managed to restore three high-voltage lines and a substation, prioritizing power supply to critical facilities like the water utility.

On April 4, 2025, an FPV drone hit the Kherson heat and power plant.

On the morning of April 1, 2025, another energy facility was damaged in Kherson, leaving 45,000 subscribers without electricity due to the Russian attack.

On March 27, Russian troops struck the energy infrastructure in Kherson and Poltava, violating previously agreed ceasefire terms. The Kremlin had agreed to halt attacks on energy facilities, but these strikes indicate a breach of agreements.

President Zelensky stated that Ukraine would respond to such violations and called on the international community to react to Russia's actions.
