As of the morning of January 27, new power outages are reported in four regions of Ukraine; severe weather has left over 500 settlements without electricity in seven regions. This was reported by NEC "Ukrenergo" on Facebook.
"The enemy launched missile and drone strikes on the energy infrastructure in several regions. As a result, there are new outages in Kharkiv, Odesa, Donetsk, and Dnipropetrovsk regions. Emergency restoration works are being carried out wherever security conditions allow," the message reads.
Additionally, due to adverse weather conditions (severe icing causing power line icing), over 500 settlements in Vinnytsia, Ternopil, Khmelnytskyi, Chernivtsi, Kirovohrad, Sumy, and Kyiv regions have been fully or partially de-energized. Energy companies' teams have already begun repairs on damaged networks.
Due to the difficulties caused by Russian attacks, emergency power outages are currently being implemented in several regions. In other areas, power limitation schedules for industries and hourly disconnection schedules for households are in effect.
Electricity consumption as of 9:30 AM on Tuesday exceeded the previous day's level by 1.8% due to fewer outages in certain regions.
"Throughout the day, all regions of Ukraine must continue to practice energy conservation. Please limit the use of heavy electrical appliances as much as possible. If possible, move energy-intensive processes to nighttime hours – after 11 PM," Ukrenergo added.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Energy reports that there is a significant deficit of electricity in Kyiv and the Kyiv region, and emergency power outages are being implemented.
Moreover, consumers in frontline and border regions remain without power for long periods, where restoration of electricity supply is complicated by ongoing hostilities.
On the morning of January 27, Russian forces attacked an infrastructure facility in the Lviv region.
