Ukrainian Air Defense Successfully Intercepts Drones

Report on the interception of drones during the Russian attack on Ukraine on January 5.

During a recent Russian attack on Ukraine on January 5, air defense forces managed to neutralize 53 out of 61 drones, as reported by the Air Forces of Ukraine on Telegram.
Starting from 6 PM on Monday, January 5, the enemy launched 61 strike drones, including Shahed, from various directions: Millerovo, Kursk, Orel (RF), and temporarily occupied Donetsk. Approximately 40 of these were Shahed drones.
The attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian defense forces.
As of 8:30 AM on January 6, preliminary data indicated that air defense had shot down or suppressed 53 drones across northern, central, and eastern regions of the country.
Eight strikes were recorded at six different locations.
Additionally, Russian forces shelled the Nikopol and Synelnykove districts in the Dnipropetrovsk region, damaging civilian infrastructure.
