Ukraine's air defense successfully neutralized 137 out of 165 drones used in a Russian assault launched on the evening of January 4.
This was reported by the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine via Telegram.
Starting from 6 PM on Sunday, January 4, the enemy fired 9 ballistic missiles "Iskander-M" and surface-to-air missiles S-300 from the Bryansk and Voronezh regions, as well as 165 strike drones of the Shahed type and others from the directions of: Millero, Kursk, Shatalovo, Orel. About 100 of these were Shahed drones.
The aerial attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups of Ukraine's defense forces.
As of 8 AM on Monday, January 5, air defense had shot down 137 drones of various types in northern, central, and eastern Ukraine.
Hits from ballistic/surface-to-air missiles and 26 strike UAVs were recorded at 10 locations, along with debris from downed targets at 9 locations.
The attack is still ongoing, with several enemy UAVs remaining in the airspace.
In Kyiv, one person was killed and four injured as a result of the Russian attack on the night of January 5. Out of 26 patients at a private clinic in the Obolon district, where the strike occurred, 16 were transported to municipal hospitals.
