The air defense successfully neutralized 73 out of 99 drones that Russian forces attempted to use for an attack on Ukraine on the evening of December 25. There was a recorded launch of a ballistic missile and 26 strike UAVs. This information was provided by the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook.
During the night of December 26 (starting from 6 PM on December 25), the enemy launched a ballistic missile «Iskander-M» from the occupied Crimea, along with 99 strike UAVs of the Shahed type, Gerbera, and other drones from directions: Bryansk, Kursk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk – Russia, and Hvardiyiske - occupied Crimea, with about 60 of them being «Shaheds».
The air threat was actively countered by aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
According to preliminary data, as of 9 AM, the air defense managed to destroy or suppress 73 enemy UAVs of the Shahed, Gerbera type, and others in the north, south, and east of the country.
There were recorded hits of a ballistic missile and 26 strike UAVs at 16 different locations.
In Odesa, Russian forces attacked an infrastructure facility with a strike UAV, resulting in a fire outbreak.
