The air defense units of Ukraine successfully neutralized 63 out of 82 drones launched by Russian forces on the evening of December 17. This information was shared by the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine via Telegram.
According to the report, starting from 18:00 on Wednesday, December 17, the Russian army launched an attack on Ukraine using 82 strike UAVs of the Shahed type, "Gerbera," and other models from various directions: Milleryovo, Kursk, Orel, Primorsko-Akhtarsk (RF), with about 50 being Shahed drones.
The defense was carried out by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
As of 08:30 on Thursday, December 18, the air defense managed to shoot down or suppress 63 drones across the north, south, east, and central parts of Ukraine.
Nineteen hits of strike UAVs were recorded at 12 locations, as well as debris falling at eight sites.
The attack is ongoing, with several enemy drones still in the airspace.
In Cherkasy, as a result of the Russian drone attack on the night of December 18, six people were injured, and part of the city experienced a power outage.
