The Ukrainian armed forces showcased the effectiveness of their air defense systems by neutralizing 37 out of 69 enemy drones. This information was shared on the Telegram channel of the Air Forces of Ukraine.
On the evening of December 16, Russian forces launched 69 drones, including Shahed types, "Gerbera," and others, from various directions such as Kursk, Orel, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Millerovo, and Gvardeyskoye, located in temporarily occupied Crimea. More than 40 of these were Shahed drones.
In response, the Ukrainian Air Forces deployed aviation, anti-aircraft missile systems, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups.
As of 09:00 on December 17, preliminary reports indicate that 37 enemy drones were shot down in northern, southern, and eastern Ukraine. Strikes were recorded against 29 drones across 12 different locations.
The attack is ongoing, and several enemy UAVs are still present in the airspace, warns the Air Forces.
