The Ukrainian company "Oko Camera" showcased its new line of thermal cameras at the Brave1 Components exhibition, operating in the standard thermal imaging range (LWIR).

These cameras work in passive mode and are equipped with high-sensitivity optics, developed without the use of Chinese components. Key elements, such as sensors and optics, are sourced from European manufacturers, while assembly and software development are conducted in Ukraine.

Oko Camera's solutions are integrated into turrets, bombers, reconnaissance drones, autonomous navigation systems, and drone countermeasures. The company acts as a component partner for other manufacturers, customizing modules to meet specific technical requirements, including algorithmic image processing and detecting moving targets at considerable distances.

The manufacturer stated that current capabilities allow for the production of several hundred cameras per month, depending on the optics. They aim to expand production and reach a volume of over 1000 cameras per month by 2026.

However, scaling faces challenges due to production cycles, logistics of components, and tax restrictions.

"There are challenges that make the Ukrainian cameras more expensive. For instance, we sell with VAT, while Chinese manufacturers can sell without it," the company explains.

The cost is primarily determined by the optics: basic thermal imaging modules start at 2000 euros. For specific tasks, the team offers custom solutions that can be either cost-reduced or highly sensitive, depending on the manufacturer's needs.

"Oko Camera" is a Ukrainian developer of thermal imaging cameras and their software, focusing on high-sensitivity optics and creating custom modules for defense systems.
