President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that after the strike on Ternopil, the whereabouts of 22 individuals remain unknown, and the search efforts are ongoing. He reported this via Telegram.
«Our rescuers have been working tirelessly in Ternopil, and the search and rescue operations are still underway. As of now, the location of 22 people is still unknown – active searches are ongoing. More than 230 rescuers from nine regions of Ukraine are involved in the operations,» Zelensky said.
According to him, in some areas, work can only be done manually due to severe destruction and the instability of structures, complicating the search.
At this moment, the President added, 26 fatalities are confirmed, including three children. «My condolences to the families and loved ones,» Zelensky stated.
He expressed gratitude to all those working at the site nearly non-stop for almost a day.
«It is crucial that in such difficult days, despite all the attacks from Russia, our people always know they can rely on rescue and support,» emphasized the head of state.
Recall that on the morning of November 19, Russian forces attacked Ternopil with drones and missiles, leading to strikes on two residential buildings.
