On the night of August 5, the city of Lozova in the Kharkiv region was attacked by over 30 drones, leading to two fatalities.
This information was confirmed by Lozova's mayor, Serhiy Zelensky, in a video address.
“It was a dreadful night for Lozova. We have never experienced such an attack before. More than 30 ‘Shahed’ drones targeted our city. They struck while emergency services were already on the scene, which was deliberate and vile,” the mayor noted.
According to him, a 55-year-old mechanic from one of the railway units was killed. Ten others suffered injuries of varying severity, including a 14-year-old boy and a 13-year-old girl.
The railway infrastructure was damaged, with windows blown out in nearby buildings and a kindergarten.
Efforts are ongoing to address the aftermath of the mass attack and restore electricity supply.
According to Oleksiy Zubashev, head of the Lozova power supply company, nearly 80% of consumers were left without electricity due to the enemy attack.
“Energy specialists immediately began working on restoring power: operational switches, temporary power schemes, and so on. Initially, the focus was on restoring power to the city's critical infrastructure. We are gradually reconnecting household consumers. Currently, parts of the city, particularly Avylivka, are still without power, but we are doing everything possible to restore electricity to all consumers as soon as possible,” he assured.
