The World Boxing Organization (WBO) has announced that Oleksandr Usyk has decided to step down from his heavyweight world championship title. His team has not yet provided any comments on this matter. As reported by the WBO on social media, the Ukrainian boxer has made this decision to focus on new challenges.
The WBO expresses its profound respect and gratitude to Oleksandr Usyk — an undefeated two-time WBO world champion in different weight classes, who has brought honor and prestige to this title in modern boxing.
«It is a great honor for the WBO to have such a champion both in and out of the ring. Usyk exemplifies excellence, discipline, integrity, and patriotism, serving as a source of pride for the Ukrainian people and a true ambassador of boxing worldwide.

We accept and respect his decision to relinquish the WBO heavyweight championship title.
