Ukrainian diver Alexey Sreda is in the running for the title of Athlete of the Year according to World Aquatics. This was announced by the federation's press service.
Alongside the 19-year-old from Mykolaiv, other nominees include Cassiel Russo (Australia), Osmar Olvera (Mexico), Juan Chao, and Zonguan Wang (both from China).
In 2025, Sreda won three gold medals in diving at the European Championship in Antalya – in the individual high dive, synchronized diving, and mixed team events. He also holds a silver medal from the World Cup Super Final and a bronze in synchronized diving.
Additionally, our athlete secured a silver medal at the World Aquatics Championship in Singapore, which was the only medal for Ukraine in the team standings.
