Daria Mironyuk secured the gold medal at the Ukrainian Fencing Cup in the individual épée category.
In the final bout, the athlete emerged victorious over Alina Polozyuk with a score of 14:10.
On her path to defending her champion title, Daria overcame five opponents. After decisive victories against Daria Husarenko and the recent junior championship bronze medalist Svitlana Bryzhalova, Mironyuk defeated her teammates from the Armed Forces Sports Club, notably winning in the quarterfinals with a priority touch against Anna Taranenko (12:11), and in the semifinals against Anastasia Sadii (8:5).
"I am extremely happy. I was sick last week, and my condition wasn’t the best. But I managed to bring the gold home, and to do it at home. I am very happy," – commented Mironyuk on her victory.
