Ukrainian snowboarder Anna-Maria Danch showcased her best seasonal performance at the World Cup stage held in Krynica, Poland.
She finished in sixth place in the parallel giant slalom, reaching the quarter-finals where she faced Netherlands' Michelle Dekker.
After the first run, the Ukrainian was trailing her opponent by 0.09 seconds, and finished the second run with a time of +0.34 seconds, thus exiting the competition.
At this event, Danch placed sixth, marking her best result of the 2024/25 season and tying her second-best career result.
"I am satisfied with my performance. I really like this course: it's not too steep and not too flat, I can gain speed here. The snow is already spring-like, which is my favorite. Last year at this stage of the World Cup, I finished fifth, my best result of the season. But I want to make it to the top four. Tomorrow there will be another World Cup stage, so we will fight," Danch said.
Regarding other Ukrainian participants in this tournament, Nadia Hapatin finished in 27th place and did not qualify, Vita Bodnaruk was 39th, and Oleksandra Malyovana took the last 48th spot. Mykhailo Khark took 34th place in the men's qualification.
Danch's notable achievement includes a silver medal at the 2019 World Championship in parallel slalom. Additionally, Anna-Maria Danch has been a two-time silver medalist at the Winter Universiade in parallel giant slalom in 2011 and 2017.
