A new municipal enterprise called «Military Sport» has been established in Kyiv, focusing on the physical and sports rehabilitation of military personnel, veterans, and their families. This decision was made during the plenary session of the Kyiv City Council on December 12.

According to Kyiv City Council member Vadim Vasylychuk, this initiative addresses the urgent need for creating conditions for the psychological adaptation of Ukraine's defenders through sports.

«This project is extremely important as it will support our defenders in recovering from combat, integrating into society, and becoming role models for the youth. We aim to demonstrate that caring for military personnel and veterans is our priority. The new enterprise will carry out a wide range of activities, including organizing sports events, rehabilitation after injuries, and patriotic education among the youth with the participation of veterans,» emphasized Vadim Vasylychuk.

He further explained that in 2023, various sports events for veterans had already been held in Kyiv, but this is not enough.

«The establishment of «Military Sport» is not just a new project developed with the Department of Youth and Sports, but an opportunity to expand the range of services and provide systematic support to our defenders. Involving veterans in sports activities will also serve as an important tool for overcoming stress and popularizing sports among the population,» he added.
