A new initiative aimed at the physical rehabilitation of veterans in need has been launched in Kyiv. This was announced today, September 30, during a panel discussion at the Second Kyiv Veteran Forum by the Deputy Head of the Kyiv City State Administration, Olena Hovorova.

«With the support of the Youth and Sports Department of the Kyiv City State Administration and the «Kyiv Military Hub», fitness clubs «SportLand» and «Fitness Continent» are offering free rehabilitation services to our veterans who have suffered injuries, disabilities, or disorders of the musculoskeletal or nervous systems. This is our effort to help them accelerate their social and psychological adaptation back to civilian life after the war», – noted Olena Hovorova.

She emphasized that fitness and physical activity not only maintain physical health but also aid in psychological recovery, overcoming PTSD, and restoring emotional balance and confidence.

Currently, services are provided at 5 clubs located in Darnytsia, Livoberezhna, Obolon, Voskresenka, and Troieshchyna. Already, 73 veterans are utilizing loyalty programs, and the network provides a total of 150 free club memberships.

Each club selects two trainers with specialized education and at least two years of personal training experience. They undergo advanced courses in rehabilitation at the National University of Physical Education and Sports of Ukraine.

The rehabilitation trainer (project supervisor) assesses the overall condition and fitness level of the veteran and assists in selecting safe and effective training regimens, creating individual programs tailored to their needs.
