On Monday, August 25, the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) released an updated ranking.
Elina Svitolina, the top-ranked tennis player from Ukraine, has dropped two places to now sit at 15th. The top ten did not compete last week, so there were no changes in their standings. Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka continues to lead the ranking.
Marta Kostyuk and Dayana Yastremska both moved up one spot, now ranked 28th and 31st respectively.
Yuliya Starodubtseva has fallen two spots and is now ranked 68th.
Despite an injury that kept Angelina Kalinina off the court for over two months, she has climbed to 135th place.
Darya Snihur improved her position to 171st, as did Anastasia Soboleva to 270th.
In contrast, Oleksandra Oliynykova has dropped out of the top 200, now sitting at 202nd.
