The World Championship in greco-roman wrestling for athletes under 20 is taking place in Samokov, Bulgaria. Ukrainian representative Egor Yakushenko confidently secured his championship title, successfully defending his gold medal.
In his opening match, Egor defeated neutral wrestler Pavel Savytsky. He then eliminated Uzbek Amirhon Berdikulov and Polish wrestler Sebastian Varchol from the tournament. In the semifinals, Yakushenko overcame German Darius Kiefer, and in the final, he triumphed over Iranian representative Hadi Akbar Seydi Avendi.
Thus, Egor Yakushenko has become a two-time world champion in greco-roman wrestling. In 2024, he also claimed gold. Egor trains at the sports club 'Olympiets' in the Desnyansky district of Kyiv under the guidance of coach Mykola Yelarinov.
