Renowned Ukrainian paddler Lyudmyla Luzan has become the world champion in her specialty – single kayak canoeing at the distance of 500 meters in 2025.

In the final, she outperformed Canadian athlete Aeti Vincent and Spanish competitor María Cobrerra.

This victory marks Luzan's sixth gold medal at world championships and her second at the current championship held in Milan, Italy. On August 22, she also triumphed alongside Iryna Fedoriv in the canoe double event over the 500-meter distance.

It’s worth noting that in June, Luzan and Fedoriv secured a silver medal at the European Championship in the same event.
