On August 24, a group of Ukrainian veterans, including two with amputated limbs, successfully swam across the Bosphorus Strait. They covered 6.5 kilometers from Asia to Europe, achieving impressive results, reports the nationwide military trauma center Superhumans.

There were 2800 participants in the event. The veterans with amputations deliberately did not disclose their disabilities during registration, as it was essential for them to complete the distance alongside other competitors.

"Just a day before the start, they could have been disqualified, and now we admire their achievements!" the community notes.

Veteran Pavlo, who returned to swimming two months after stepping on a mine and losing a leg, completed the distance in 1 hour and 23 minutes.

Triathlete Oleg, who suffered two concussions during combat, completed one of the toughest swims in the world in 1 hour and 24 minutes.

Veteran Oleksandr, who has an above-the-knee amputation, climbed to Everest Base Camp in April and now swam across the Bosphorus in 1 hour and 30 minutes.

"This is not just about sports. It's about recovery after war, character strength, and setting an example for all of us. Thank you for inspiring us!" concludes the Superhumans Center.
