Dmytro Nikitin, the Ukrainian high jumper, emerged victorious at the international Golden Spike tournament held in the Czech city of Ostrava.

Today, June 24, the 25-year-old athlete from Ukraine participated in the tournament, which is part of the Continental Tour of World Athletics.

He was the only Ukrainian representative in the men's high jump. His main competitor was the silver medalist from the indoor European Championship, local favorite Jan Steffela, and the two of them fought for the gold medal.

Fortunately, Dmytro came out on top in this contest. Both athletes set the tournament's best result by clearing the height of 2.24 meters. However, Nikitin achieved this on his first attempt, while Steffela only managed to clear it on his third try.

Both the Ukrainian and the Czech attempted to jump 2.28 meters but were unsuccessful. Ultimately, Dmytro Nikitin claimed victory in the Continental Tour in Ostrava, with Steffela taking silver. The bronze medal went to Italian Marco Fassinotti, who cleared 2.20 meters.
