Starting April 10, the film "MUR. You [Romance] in Cinema" will be available in Ukrainian theaters. Over 3,500 tickets for the cinematic version of the musical about poets from the Executed Renaissance have been sold just 10 days before its premiere.

This was reported by the film team to UP.Culture.

"The idea of advance ticket sales is not new, but only a few projects achieve such strong numbers as "MUR. You [Romance] in Cinema", – emphasized the head of film distribution at FILM.UA Nadiya Korotushka.

The team also thanked all the cinemas that agreed to open advance sales for the film viewing.

"Given the incredible success of the performance, which the MUR group toured with in 2024, we knew there was a large audience that missed it, so we were happy to announce the release and open ticket sales long before the premiere date", – said the marketing director of the Multiplex cinema chain Iryna Kholod.

The film narrates events at the "Word" house in Kharkiv and takes viewers through the life of Pavlo Tychyna, introducing them to the inner worlds of characters: from desperate love to the struggle with fears and compromises. Historical events intertwine with contemporary realities and the full-scale war against Russia.

The musical "You [Romance]" debuted in 2024 and became very popular, with around 60,000 people attending during its tour across Ukraine. Subsequently, the MUR project approached FILM.UA to film the stage production, leading to the creation of "MUR. You [Romance] in Cinema".

The film showcases the performance in its theatrical form, emphasizing cinematic dynamics: use of close-ups, angle changes, and focus on details. The editing adds new rhythms while preserving the authenticity of the live performance.

The musical team will also embark on a pre-premiere tour across Ukraine to meet with audiences of the film version. The tour will cover 8 cities: Kharkiv, Dnipro, Lviv, Zaporizhzhia, Odesa, Lutsk, Kyiv, and Cherkasy.
