On September 17th at 7:00 PM, in Kyiv at the “Sens” bookstore (Khreshchatyk, 34), there will be a presentation of the book “Olenivka. Crime. Memory. Broken System”, featuring authors and witnesses of the events.

Gayana Avakyan, co-founder of the Memorial Memory Platform, announced this on her Facebook page.

“The book gathers all available testimonies about the Russian war crime in Olenivka, which remains unpunished. We honor the victims by naming them and sharing their stories,” stated the event organizers.

During the meeting, the following topics will be discussed:

  • the timeline of events leading up to and following the explosion;
  • the importance of memory in transitional justice;
  • the reasons behind the international justice system's failure to address Russian war crimes.

The book was prepared by: The Ukrainians Publishing, Memorial Memory Platform, Media Initiative for Human Rights.
