The Ivan Franko National Academic Drama Theater showcased Ukrainian art on the global theater stage. This year, the play 'Caligula' based on Albert Camus's work, directed by Ivan Uryvskyi, participated in the International Theater Festival in Dublin, Ireland.
Within the festival, six performances were held, all of which were sold out, creating great interest among the international audience. Representatives of the Ukrainian diplomatic corps and other countries, renowned theater critics, curators, and specialists from around the world attended the performances. 'Caligula' received acclaim in the international press.
During their stay in Ireland, the theater team engaged in discussions on the topic of 'Modernizing Classics and Creating Plays in Extreme Conditions and Short Timeframes', organized in collaboration with the Trinity College Dublin student theater and the TCD Ukrainian Society. Additionally, theater actor Oleksandr Rudynskyi conducted a masterclass titled 'Character Exploration' for Trinity College students.
A significant achievement was the selection of 'Caligula' for participation in the international theater platform PROSPERO New, funded by the Creative Europe program.
