In the city of Strasbourg (France), a museum exhibition titled «Displays of Horror» was unveiled at the European Parliament building.
This exhibition is presented for the first time in a place where historical decisions are made and European policies are shaped.
The exhibition was organized by the National Museum of the History of Ukraine in World War II. The museum emphasizes that they have gathered not just artifacts.
«Every item is a testament to the real crimes of the Russian invaders, including the shelling of a children’s hospital in Kyiv; the establishment of an improvised concentration camp in Yahidne, Chernihiv region; mass killings of civilians in Izyum, where bodies were buried in large mass graves; bombing of a printing house in Kharkiv...» they noted at the museum.
Attendees of the exhibition presentation included the President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola, the idea's author and project curator, MEP Ondřej Kolář, and Ukraine's Representative to the Council of Europe Boris Tarasyuk.
The Director General of the War Museum, Yuriy Savchuk, mentioned in his speech the latest high-profile crime by the Kremlin—the missile and drone attack on Kyiv on the night of June 17, which resulted in new civilian casualties in the tragic timeline of the war. He stressed that holding the criminals accountable is a duty of the civilized world to those who can no longer speak for themselves.
The exhibition has sparked significant resonance in the political heart of the European Union, reminding EU parliamentarians of simple axioms: Ukraine needs support in this fight, and evil must be punished. May each exhibited item become a word inscribed in the verdict against Russian criminals, to be delivered by the highest instances of international justice.
The museum expresses sincere gratitude for the initiative and leadership in implementing the project to MEP Ondřej Kolář.
