This remarkable drone has been incorporated into the collection of the National Museum of the History of Ukraine, affirming its status as a crucial element in the fight against Russian aggression.
The Security Service of Ukraine has officially handed over one of the most renowned maritime drones, Sea Baby, to the museum, highlighting its role in territorial defense.
This drone belongs to the class of 'reusable' drones, meaning it can return to base after completing missions.
According to information from the SBU, the drone successfully conducted several operations and covered over 4,000 kilometers across the Black Sea. For instance, in December 2024, Sea Baby engaged in aerial battles with Russian aviation.
Despite sustaining significant damage, the drone managed to fulfill its missions and return to base. It is now deemed non-operational, and thus has been moved to the museum for preservation.
Ivan Lukashevich, Brigadier General of Military Counterintelligence, noted that the Sea Baby maritime drone is a unique development that surpasses all global counterparts in reliability and technology.
He emphasized that the maritime drones created by SBU specialists have evolved from experimental models to multifunctional platforms capable of covering vast distances and executing various military tasks since 2022.
Lieutenant General Vasyl Maliuk, head of SBU, highlighted that thanks to these drones, Ukraine has been able to reduce Russia's dominance in the Black Sea.
“It is a great honor for us to host this legendary drone in the museum. Sea Baby significantly changed the course of the war, forcing Russian forces to hide,” said museum director Yuriy Savchuk.
This drone has become an important testament to the heroism of Ukrainian soldiers in the fight for freedom.
