The «Ukrainian Book Shelf» project has broadened its reach by opening in Bangkok, Thailand's capital.
This was announced by Ukraine's First Lady, Olena Zelenska.
What we know about the Ukrainian book shelf in Thailand
«I am grateful to Thailand for becoming the 59th country in our global project, which now includes over 250 shelves and 57,000 books», – noted the President's wife.
The new shelf features 60 books across various genres, from fiction to children's literature.
Notably, a special edition is the collection «Soul of the Earth: The History of Ukraine in Ten Poems», which includes works by Ukrainian poets translated into Thai for the first time.
Over the past month, the project has also significantly expanded in Europe and beyond.
New shelves have been established in two cities in Poland (Katowice and Szczecin), three cities in Hungary (Vác, Kiskunhalas, and Záhony), in Portugal (Santa Maria da Feira), and even in the Republic of South Africa — at the National Library of South Africa.
«I thank our consulates and embassies. Ukrainian books are traveling to Ukrainians and introducing our friends to our cultural heritage», – summarized Zelenska.
