The operational director of the Bring Kids Back UA initiative, Daria Zarivna, met with the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Lithuania to Ukraine, Inga Stanisiete-Tolochkenne.
She provided insights into the key goals and priorities of the initiative for the coming year, emphasizing the need for a reintegration system for children returning to Ukraine.
«The return of a child is only the first step. A child requires not only safety but also care, support, and an opportunity for healing,» stated Daria Zarivna.
They also addressed the initial list of abducted children that the Ukrainian side presented to the Russian representatives during negotiations in Istanbul in early June.
«If the Russian side wishes to show its sincerity, it must return at least a few children from the list,» emphasized Zarivna.
She highlighted that public support from partner countries could be crucial for the return of these children.
Additionally, the implementation of the Safe Pathways Home initiative as part of the Montreal commitment was discussed during the meeting.
The parties acknowledged the importance of international cooperation to determine the whereabouts of Ukrainian children abducted by Russia and new mechanisms for their return home.
