President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine announced that a partnership roadmap has been established between Ukraine and Ireland for the next five years. He shared this during a joint press conference with Irish Prime Minister Micheál Martin in Dublin.
«We have agreed on a partnership roadmap between our countries, Ukraine and Ireland, for at least the next five years. We hope that during this time Ukraine will become a member of the European Union, and we are grateful for your support on this path,» Zelensky mentioned.
He emphasized that discussions with the Irish Prime Minister covered the entire bilateral agenda. The President reminded that Ireland continuously provides political assistance to Ukraine, and there is a humanitarian aid package in place.
«We are very thankful for all of this,» the President said.
Zelensky also expressed gratitude to Ireland for its support of Ukrainians during the war.
«I was raised to never criticize help — it can either increase or decrease. We must be grateful and never forget this. I truly believe that you have done this not only to help us but because you understand what we are going through. You understand this, I believe, historically and in terms of values. Therefore, we appreciate your choice. It is not about the size of aid, but about the choice made,» he stated.
