The Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, Rustem Umerov, briefed President Volodymyr Zelensky on the preparations for today’s crucial negotiations in Brussels with European leaders' national security advisors. This was reported by the president on Telegram.
«Rustem Umerov informed about the readiness for meetings in Brussels with the national security advisors of European countries. Chief of General Staff Andriy Hnatov will also be present at these meetings. This is our ongoing coordination with partners, ensuring full engagement in the negotiation process,» - noted Zelensky.
He mentioned that the Ukrainian representatives would update their European colleagues on the findings from the recent American contacts in Moscow and discuss the European component necessary for security architecture.
After Brussels, Umerov and Hnatov are set to prepare for a meeting with representatives of President Trump in the United States. «As always, Ukraine will work constructively towards real peace. I am looking forward to a new report following today's meetings in Europe,» - added Zelensky.
White House special envoy Steve Vitkoff and President Donald Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner met with Russian President Putin in the Kremlin on Tuesday to discuss a peace plan for Ukraine. The Kremlin described the talks with the American representatives as useful but noted that a compromise on the peace plan for Ukraine has not yet been reached.
