President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine, after a meeting with the President of Ireland, Catherine Connolly, which included Ukraine's First Lady, stated that the main topics of discussion were the return of children, Eurointegration, and food security. He shared this information via Telegram.
«Today, we are here in Dublin for an official visit, where we held a meeting with President Catherine Connolly. Among the key topics discussed were the return of Ukrainian children abducted by Russia, the involvement of two Irish universities in the Global Coalition of Ukrainian Studies, Ukraine's accession to the European Union, and potential steps and decisions to expedite this process», Zelensky explained.
He highlighted that the meeting also addressed cooperation in ensuring global food security, the rehabilitation and social integration of Ukrainian soldiers, and the construction of shelters in schools.
«I thank Ireland for its support, for the financial and humanitarian aid since the onset of the full-scale Russian war. All manifestations of support for our people are crucial for Ukraine», the President concluded.
Today, Volodymyr Zelensky and Olena Zelenska arrived in Ireland for an official visit, with high-level meetings, a speech in parliament, participation in the opening of the Irish-Ukrainian Economic Forum, and a meeting with the Ukrainian community planned.
