The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, held a meeting with Denmark's Minister of Industry, Business, and Finance, Morten Bødskov.
The Head of State expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen, the government, and the people of Denmark for their steadfast support of Ukraine during the ongoing war.
“We hope to continue these productive relations. The Danish model serves as an example for other nations and supports the development of our defense industry,” said the President.
Volodymyr Zelensky also highlighted the importance of Denmark's presidency in the EU Council this semester and their support for Ukraine's path toward EU membership.
“It is a great honor to be here. We brought the largest Danish business delegation ever to visit Ukraine, consisting of about 150 individuals aiming to explore new collaboration opportunities,” the minister reported.
The President noted Denmark's decision on joint arms production and discussed the continuation of defense cooperation, including funding and insurance mechanisms. The conversation also touched upon the export of Ukrainian weapons.
The parties discussed issues regarding drones that violated Danish airspace and Ukraine's experience in protecting critical infrastructure. The President emphasized Ukraine's readiness to share its expertise.
Additionally, they spoke about the reconstruction of Ukraine, including Denmark's patronage over the Mykolaiv region and future project possibilities. The minister assured that major Danish companies are ready to participate in this effort.
Before the meeting began, the President received the credentials from the newly appointed Danish Ambassador Thomas Lund-Sørensen.
