Bridgit Brink's Resignation
In early April, Russian forces struck Kryvyi Rih. A ballistic missile with a cluster munitions warhead exploded near a playground, killing nine children and injuring several others.
The then US ambassador to Ukraine, Bridgit Brink, responded to this tragedy on social media but did not mention Russia's involvement, stating that "this strike is further evidence of why the war must end.".
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky expressed his "disappointment" with Brink's response, deeming it weak.
The following day, Brink clarified that Russia was responsible for the attack.
Days later, news of her resignation emerged.
