Ukraine and the Czech Republic have signed a deal to create a "unity center" for Ukrainians in the Czech Republic. This will be the second such center in Europe, aimed at maintaining the connection of Ukrainians living abroad with their homeland and encouraging their return. Plans are in place to open additional centers in several other countries.

Details: The signing ceremony took place live before a press conference with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala in Prague.
The agreement for establishing the "national unity center" for Ukrainians in the Czech Republic was signed by Minister of National Unity Oleksii Chernyshov and Czech Minister of the Interior Vít Rakušan.
During the press conference, Volodymyr Zelensky stated that similar centers will be opened in "many countries with a large presence of Ukrainian citizens".
He specifically mentioned Germany, where the process has already begun, as well as the Czech Republic, Spain, and Poland, with the possibility of the United Kingdom being another location.
"This is an ongoing effort. I don’t know when it will end or how many such centers we will need to maintain contact with Ukrainians abroad," – noted Volodymyr Zelensky.
The president indicated that in these centers, Ukrainians will be able to receive legal advice and "find their place" in Ukraine, particularly regarding employment opportunities. He expressed hope that many Ukrainians would return to Ukraine after the active phase of the war concludes.
Petr Fiala also mentioned that currently, 160,000 Ukrainian citizens are working in the Czech Republic.
The first reports about plans to establish such a center in the Czech Republic surfaced back in the winter of 2025.
