On Tuesday, April 8, a new border crossing point 'Velika Palad – Nadjhodosh' started operating on a temporary infrastructure at the Ukrainian-Hungarian border in Zakarpattia.
This was reported by the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine, as noted by 'European Truth'.
The new border post is intended for the processing of passenger vehicles up to 3.5 tons and will operate daily from 7 AM to 6 PM.
It is expected that up to 200 passenger cars and 600 pedestrians will be able to cross the border daily.
Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Oleksii Kuleba stated that a full-fledged border crossing is planned for the future.
'This is the first new crossing point opened at the Ukrainian-Hungarian border in several decades', he emphasized.
In total, there are five automobile border crossing points on the Ukraine-Hungary border. The largest, 'Chop – Zahony', is the only one designated for trucks over 7.5 tons carrying goods.
Recall that in December 2024, the 'Luzhanka – Beregshuran' crossing became available for empty trucks weighing over 7.5 tons.
