The Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has released data on the updated version of the Russian UAV «Geran-2», which is now equipped with a man-portable air defense system.
This was reported on Facebook.

In the section «Means of Destruction» on the War&Sanctions portal, interactive schemes, components, and electronic systems of the «Geran-2» UAV series «E» with new equipment have been published.

In response to the effective actions of the Ukrainian Air Force, the enemy continues to adapt its UAVs for targeting aerial objectives.

Previously, it was reported that «Geran-2» was utilized with the outdated R-60 missile. Now, new details have emerged - the UAV is equipped with the MANPADS «Verba».

The operation of this modification involves manual control by the operator in real-time using the Chinese camera Honpho TS130C-01.

Upon detecting an aerial target, the operator sequentially activates two servos: the first powers the system, and the second opens the protective cover for missile launch.

This new version features a full combat warhead, unlike the previous modification.

The sample analyzed by the GUR is equipped with a thermobaric warhead TBBC-50M.

After launching the missile, the UAV retains its capability to perform its primary strike mission, with the operator able to guide it to the target.

The components and blocks are standard: flight controller, inertial navigation system, trackers, etc.

The inertial navigation system features the new SCH1633-D0I module from Murata (Japan), designed for automotive applications.

Countries of origin for other electronic components include the USA, China, Switzerland, Taiwan, Japan, Germany, and the UK. A full list is available on War&Sanctions.

The release of this data aims to expose the technological chains of Russian military aggression and enhance international sanctions pressure.
