Every year on November 30, Ukraine commemorates an important date – the Day of Radio Technical Troops of the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

This holiday was established on September 16, 2010, by the order of the Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Mykhailo Yezhel, to highlight the importance of radio technical troops in the defense of our country and to enhance the prestige of military service.

Radio technical troops play a crucial role in gathering information about the air situation, conducting reconnaissance of airborne objects, and timely alerting the troops about threats.

The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, emphasized in his address that thanks to the radio technical troops, Ukrainians receive important alerts about aerial dangers.

“On November 30, we celebrate the professional holiday of those responsible for detecting aerial threats and transmitting information for the air defense system,” Syrskyi noted.

According to him, it is the servicemen of the radio technical troops who ensure the timely information about potential dangers.

“Dear radio technicians! Your work often goes unnoticed, but it is incredibly important for those making decisions,” Syrskyi emphasized.

He also pointed out that during the first hours of Russia's full-scale invasion, radio technical troops managed to maintain command and provide essential information to the Air Forces. Thanks to their efforts, the Ukrainian aviation and air defense forces were able to fulfill their missions.

“I sincerely congratulate all RTV soldiers on their professional holiday. I wish you health and peaceful skies. Thank you for your dedication to the Ukrainian people. We remember our fallen comrades who died in combat,” Syrskyi added.
