The head of state expressed gratitude to Japan for its respect for the bravery of Ukrainians and for its unwavering support during the ongoing Russian invasion.
Both nations recognize the dangers posed by the Russian war globally. The leaders explored avenues to combine efforts for enhanced security and development for their peoples.
Zelensky emphasized the readiness of both countries to collaborate on advancing cutting-edge technologies to safeguard lives, considering the challenges brought about by the war. He informed her of Ukraine's intentions to develop controlled arms exports and establish robust partnerships for the joint production of modern weaponry to protect allies from threats.
He also highlighted the need for strengthening air defense systems to protect urban areas and energy infrastructure, which remains a primary target for Russia. Zelensky appreciated Japan's willingness to assist with energy equipment, which will support Ukrainian cities and communities this winter.
Additionally, Ukraine is keen on increasing cooperation with Japan for reconstruction and recovery.
