Recently, the Verkhovna Rada passed a bill designed to advance digital technologies and enhance connectivity. Mobile internet will reach a new quality standard, allowing users to evaluate its speed independently. This was reported by the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine.
"We have adopted the significant bill No. 12094, which will facilitate the development of digital technologies and guarantee uninterrupted communication for all citizens of Ukraine," the statement reads.
"Internet speed will become a key indicator of connection quality. We will implement clear standards for speed, and mobile operators must provide services that meet these requirements," the press release stated.
Citizens will be able to check mobile internet quality using their smartphones. All information on speed and quality will be sent to the NCEC for further analysis.
"This will help identify problematic areas of the network and respond quickly. We will announce the mobile internet quality monitoring system later," the ministry emphasized.
The moratorium on checking compliance with licensing conditions will be lifted. This will encourage operators to expand networks in rural areas and reduce connectivity gaps.
National roaming will remain operational even after martial law ends. Citizens will be able to use services from other operators to maintain communication in crisis situations.
"We hope the President will sign this bill soon. Our goal is to ensure quality communication and internet access for all Ukrainians, even in the most remote regions," the ministry added.
