All Hungarian border crossing points with Ukraine have implemented new regulations that require the collection of biometric data from foreign citizens. This was reported by the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine (SBGSU).
Starting from October 28, the Entry/Exit System (EES) is operational at crossing points that were not previously connected. It’s important to note that on October 12, the «Berégyháza» vehicle crossing point, opposite the Ukrainian «Luzhanka», was connected to the EES, and on October 21 the railway crossing «Záhony» was added.
The border checkpoints on the Ukrainian-Hungarian border include: «Dzyvinkove-Lonya», «Luzhanka-Beregshurany», «Kosino-Barabash», «Vylok-Tisabech», «Velyka Palad' -Nad'godosh», «Chop(Tisa)-Záhony» and «Chop(Druzhba)-Záhony».
It should be noted that the EES has been introduced to expedite border control processes, enhance security, accurately track the stay duration of foreign citizens within the EU, and combat illegal migration.
The implementation of this new system will not affect the overall border control process.
We advise citizens to take this information into account when planning their trips abroad.
