In honor of the holiday, Ukrposhta introduces a new postal release titled "Language", aimed at supporting the Ukrainian word: speaking Ukrainian means preserving our cultural space and historical heritage.
"Language unites, inspires, and keeps us together even when attempts are made to divide us. This theme is particularly close to us at Ukrposhta," said the General Director of Ukrposhta, Igor Smilyansky. "Because everything begins with a word, a letter, those few lines written from the heart. They create true communication — sincere, warm, or with a bit of spice, yet it is still ours, Ukrainian. And it is important to remember that the best word is one that is heartfelt, not just on this day."
He noted that the new postal stamp represents the beauty, depth, and strength of the Ukrainian word. It symbolizes our memory, our weapon, and our love. It is a puzzle-like picture where each image and each word has meaning.
"At the center of the composition is a woman in national attire, adorned with a wreath and beads. Beside her is a white bird, symbolizing a free spirit and purity, as well as a rooster, representing fire and awakening," explained Igor Smilyansky. "Surrounding her is a world blossoming with viburnum and sunflowers. The sunflower always symbolizes the sun, light, and well-being, while viburnum represents love, motherhood, beauty, but also courage and resilience."
Nearby, on a boat, sits Cossack Mamai with a kobza. He embodies freedom and the song that remembers history. Behind him, the sun rises, and in his heart stands a wooden church. This is an image of spirituality and revival. Above all, colorful ribbons from the wreath rise: green for youth and life, blue for the sky and water, yellow-red for the fertility of the land.
The proposed postal set includes: a sheet titled "Language", an envelope marked "First Day", and a card.
The sketches created by artist Mykola Kochubey are based on symbols that connect the past and present. They embody the role of the Ukrainian language as a source of the spiritual life of the people, a language that shapes the nation and affirms the state. Each represents identity and the diversity of Ukrainian culture.

The print run of the stamp is 180,000 copies.
On the envelope are the words of the Bukovinian writer and composer Sydir Vorobkevych: "Native language, native word! Who forgets you, has not a heart in their chest, but only a stone."
Pre-orders for the postal set can be made at the postal market, and starting from October 30, it will be available for purchase not only online but also at post offices and philatelic shops. Price: 190 UAH.
