The Ukrainian flag has vanished from the entrance of the honorary consulate of Ukraine in Przemyśl (Poland). This was reported by the Ukrainian ambassador to Poland, Vasyl Bodnar.
He shared a photo on his social media showing that only the Polish flag remained.
"We are again witnessing a surge of anti-Ukrainian sentiment on social media, leading to the disappearance of the Ukrainian flag from the consulate. This is at least the fifth incident this year," Bodnar emphasized.
"I publicly urge the Polish police and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland to take necessary actions to identify the offenders and hold them accountable," he added.
He noted that Polish legislation provides for up to a year of imprisonment for desecration of the national flag.
In September, a cross was removed from a Ukrainian church in Poland, and one suspect was detained.
Last week, during a match between "Shakhtar" and "Legia" in Krakow, Polish fans displayed a banner reading "We remember Volhynia"; the ambassador described this as a provocation.
