The first Saturday and Sunday Ukrainian schools operating abroad have been validated. Children living outside Ukraine can now attend these schools under the Ukrainian studies program. This was reported by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.
The ministry emphasizes that the learning outcomes from these validated institutions will be recognized in Ukraine, allowing children to maintain a connection with Ukrainian education.
“These schools provide not just lessons but also live interactions with peers, a sense of Ukrainian community, and the preservation of traditions. The Ukrainian language is mandatory for all students. In grades 1-4, teachers deliver the Ukrainian studies content integrated with the subject “I explore the world”.
Starting from grade 5, students study separate subjects such as Ukrainian literature and the history of Ukraine. Depending on the grade, the curriculum may also include geography, civic education, and the subject “Defending Ukraine”, as stated in the announcement.
The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine has published a verified list of ten Saturday and Sunday schools operating in various countries.
