On the night of September 22, unknown drones entered the airspace over the capitals of Denmark and Norway, resulting in the closure of airports in Copenhagen and Oslo.
This was reported by various media, including Reuters, the Swedish publication Aftonbladet, and the Norwegian Verdens Gang.
Copenhagen police stated that two to three large drones were involved. A large police operation is underway at the scene.
Several flights were canceled, and a few were redirected to Malmö Airport.
An airport spokesperson confirmed to Reuters that all traffic had been stopped, but declined to comment further.
Updated: around 11:00 PM local time, one airplane had to make an emergency landing due to fuel shortages for redirection to another airport. A similar situation occurred in the Norwegian capital, where around 9:00 PM local time, military personnel detected drones over a military facility – Akershus Fortress in Oslo. In response, Norwegian police launched an operation and reported the arrest of two Singaporean citizens in connection with the incident.
Later, at 11:30 PM, several drones were spotted over Oslo Gardermoen Airport. Initially, all traffic was redirected to one runway. However, an hour after the drone reappeared, the airport was completely closed.
"Airspace over Oslo Airport is closed due to the new sighting of a drone," quotes Verdens Gang the airport's communication manager, Monika Fasting.

Additionally, it is worth noting that on September 19, three Russian MiG-31 fighters entered Estonian airspace and remained there for about twelve minutes. Later that same day, Poland also reported that two Russian aircraft flew low over the Petrobaltic drilling platform in the Baltic Sea, violating the security zone above it. On September 21, two German Eurofighter jets were scrambled to intercept a Russian IL-20M reconnaissance aircraft over the Baltic Sea.
