The National Bank of Ukraine is set to withdraw coins from cash circulation, but the 10-kopiyka coins will remain in circulation. This was reported by the NBU.

Retail networks, banks, and service enterprises will continue to accept 10-kopiyka coins for financial transactions. Citizens will not need to exchange or return them.

Starting from October 1, the NBU will no longer mint 10-kopiyka coins and will cease their supply to banks. Coins that reach banks will be withdrawn and sent to the NBU for disposal.

“Considering the significant number of 10-kopiyka coins in circulation and the decreasing demand for them, we have decided to gradually withdraw them, which will reduce costs on their production and processing,” said the NBU.

It is worth noting that coins of 1, 2, and 5 kopiykas were withdrawn from circulation on October 1, 2019, and 25-kopiyka coins were removed on October 1, 2020. After the withdrawal of 10-kopiyka coins, the smallest denomination remaining will be the 50 kopiykas.
