The Ukrainian government has approved a resolution that simplifies access to open data by creating a unified portal for their collection.
This announcement was made by the Ministry of Digital Transformation.
«Open data — this refers to information collected, stored, and provided by government bodies in a convenient digital format for all, excluding personal or confidential details. This could include data about budgets, transport, education, healthcare, or business registries. From now on, the most important data with societal value will be compiled in a new unified list», the statement reads.
This initiative will enable citizens, businesses, and NGOs to find the necessary information more quickly and utilize it for analysis, service creation, or monitoring government activities.
The updated regulations will also assist government agencies in working with data more effectively by providing clear guidelines for uploading information to the Unified Open Data Portal. This will enhance data accessibility for citizens while reducing opportunities for misuse by officials.
It was previously reported that the State Statistics Service of Ukraine, YouControl, and the NGO «Open Data Association» (ASVIDA) signed a trilateral memorandum for cooperation in the fields of statistics, analytics, and digitization.
