In Paris and its suburbs, at least five pig heads were discovered near several mosques, prompting police to launch an investigation. Laurent Nunez, the prefect of Paris police, confirmed the findings on his social media page.

«This morning, pig heads were found at the entrances of several mosques. An investigation has been initiated immediately,» Nunez stated. He emphasized that every effort would be made to identify those responsible for these «repugnant acts».

The Great Mosque of Paris expressed its dismay over this latest act of anti-Muslim hatred, condemning the Islamophobic actions that threaten the unity of the national community. (In Islam, pigs are considered «unclean animals»).

According to Le Parisien, the pig heads were found on Rue des Rosiers in the 20th arrondissement, in front of a mosque in the 15th, and in a suitcase in the 18th. Two others were discovered in the suburbs - near the mosque entrance in Montrouge and in Montreuil.

A source close to the investigation reported that the act in Montreuil occurred at approximately 5:30 AM. Worshippers found a pig's head with the name "Macron" written in large letters.

Ben Ali, the mosque's lawyer, stated that a man wearing a surgical mask and beret threw the pig's head. He suggested that the act was premeditated and that, considering the considerable distance between the mosques, it may have been carried out by a group.
