On September 7, Ukraine celebrates Military Intelligence Day. This day marks the importance of military intelligence in safeguarding the national interests of our state. In the challenging times of open aggression, the country requires active and effective intelligence capable of providing timely, objective, and reliable information, as well as real forecasts for making crucial decisions in the area of national security.

Military intelligence is the eyes, ears, and brain of the army, states Kyrylo Budanov, the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense.

According to Budanov, this holiday honors those who engage in an often invisible but extremely vital struggle for the freedom and security of our country.

"Military intelligence, - noted Budanov, - is our eyes, ears, and brain. It embodies courage, determination, cool-headedness, and an open heart devoted to Ukraine."

He emphasized that the daily work of Ukrainian intelligence officers combines sharp intellect, modern technology, strategic analytics, and unwavering bravery.

Many comrades over the long years of this war have paid the highest price, remaining faithful to their oath and Homeland. Their names will forever be etched on the Memorial of Remembrance, Budanov underscored. He thanked each intelligence officer, every family waiting for their heroes, and all Ukrainians who support the military in the heroic fight for freedom, independence, and the future of children.

The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine congratulated intelligence officers on Military Intelligence Day. The greeting was published on Syrskyi's Facebook page.

"Dear defenders of Ukraine! On September 7, we traditionally celebrate Military Intelligence Day. I sincerely congratulate our intelligence officers on their professional holiday! Thousands of Ukrainian intelligence officers work day and night on the front lines and behind enemy lines, achieving vital results for Ukraine. Their work includes gathering important information about the enemy and neutralizing them," - stated Syrskyi.

He noted that "the combat experience and bravery of Ukrainian intelligence officers are highly regarded by our Western partners, who recognize their level of training, unconventional thinking, high professional skill, and operational efficiency in executing assigned tasks."

"The time will come when we can share all the notable operations conducted by Ukrainian intelligence officers that disrupted the plans of Russian aggressors," - emphasized Syrskyi.

"On this day, we bow our heads in sorrow for the military intelligence officers who gave their lives for Ukraine's independence and the freedom of the Ukrainian people. Eternal memory and glory to the fallen knights," - the general added.

He also expressed gratitude to the warriors.

"Dear brothers and sisters in arms! Thank you for your tremendous contribution to our shared military cause," - said Syrskyi.

Reminder: The Military Intelligence Day of Ukraine was established by the President's decree on September 7, 2022. It is celebrated annually on September 7.
