Vitaly Klitschko, together with district heads of the capital, visited the shelters in the Solomyansky district, which are in poor condition and need urgent repairs to ensure people's safety during air alarms.

Kyiv continues its active efforts to improve the technical state of protective structures and expands the network of shelters, particularly by utilizing new premises. Special attention is given to residential areas and those far from the metro stations.

Currently, the capital has over 4,350 shelter facilities, differing in type, ownership, and technical characteristics. Among them, there are 696 state-owned, 2,576 municipal, and 1,084 private facilities.

Since the beginning of the full-scale war, nearly 2,500 shelters and storage facilities have been renovated. The city allocated almost 3.4 billion UAH for this purpose. Funds are directed to district administrations, which organize and oversee repairs.

This year, Kyiv has allocated over 4 billion UAH for the construction of new shelters and capital repairs of existing ones. However, as of September, only 819 million UAH of the total amount has been utilized by the districts, which is approximately 20%. I urged district heads to take their responsibilities regarding shelter arrangements seriously. We will also conduct such inspections in other districts.

The pace of using allocated funds for shelter arrangements in the Solomyansky, Desnyansky, and Holosiivsky districts remains unsatisfactory.
