In Serbia's capital, Belgrade, a significant anti-government protest occurred on Monday, where thousands gathered to demand early parliamentary elections, hoping to remove the ruling party of President Aleksandar Vucic.

This was reported by Reuters.

On September 1, tens of thousands of demonstrators marched through the streets of Belgrade to honor the memory of 16 victims of the roof collapse at the train station in Novi Sad in November 2024. The gathering started around 7:00 PM in front of the old railway station in Belgrade. Additionally, 16 high school students marched through Sava Square holding white roses, while reading out the names of those who lost their lives in the incident. Similar protests took place in several other cities, including Novi Sad, Kragujevac, and Aleksinac. Since then, anti-government protests led by students have been ongoing in Serbia. Protesters blame corruption for the disaster and demand the government's resignation. These rallies have shaken the popularity of populist President Vucic and his SPS party.
